THE HANDCRAFTED PATIENCE

If you are one of those children born before, on or later than 1980's, you might have experienced the beauty of being creative and the blissfulness of being self-productive. Am I sane to insinuate that the essential importance of moulding a child's personality was greatly relished in the past?

Shall we have a visit down the memory lane... 

How did you enjoy being with the company of your elderly? Is it when your father or brother(s) assisted you during the construction of your first complex toy, that took so much effort? How about when your dearest mother guided you during her leisure time on how to repair garments, securely attach stitches etc? Or who knows, you were one of the few youngsters who just mindfully watched but already gripped the intricate technicalities presented in front of you. Whoever you were as a germinating child, before the outbreak of so many alienating technologies, you must be very proud at possessing far-reaching memories in today's society. 

She was one of the those youngsters who quietly watched and was absorbing what was going-on. That is why, during her younger years she intermittently honed her creativity by altering a few scrapped objects to a wonderfully contrived item. Recently, she patiently handcrafted another statement piece out of her 2 dilapidated handbags. Literally, it took most of her Saturday because of the manual teeny weeny details but the by product of her perseverance was fascinating. She dearly loves the achieved concept. It has proved to be another useful creation and not just a delicate display.

SHE IS MY SCARLET LILY: MULBERRY MEDIUM LILY SCARLET SMALL CLASSIC GRAIN

She was in my Christmas' wish list and the day I received her, the smile on my face was immeasurable.

I thought he was just joking about her but then, a sealed white box neatly secured in another package was delivered on the day I wasn't expecting any deliveries. Opening her as a present was full of unpredictable enthusiasm and it brought back memories when I was a little girl in my beloved country. The excitement in opening the box and the anticipation of having her in my hands contrived me to go to the gym later than my usual schedule. Every minute was worthwhile!

Here she was in carnal scarlet portraying appetites, sensual and passions. She had an elegant woven leather and gold chain strap implying durability, strength and versatility. Choosing the domineering shade which extended up to its gold chain shoulder strap signify a woman's confidence in wearing bold colours and eminent trimmings. I think, is it just me? I'm one of those strong-willed ladies?

I couldn't wait to try her which is why, I took her out from it's well sewn personalised dust bag. Wowed and tickled pink were my instant reactions with her soft cow leather material with a small printed grained effect. I know for a fact that Mulberry Medium Lily Scarlet Small Classic Grain is far from any best known and most highly sought-after fashion bags but to own something I've wished for gave me such overjoyed feelings. I may sound shallow and vain to disparaging people but my happiness will thwart their views and attitudes. 

What I love about her is its roomy-size which allows essential things to be carried without being voluminous when going out and about. I am used to owning larger grab bags which I treat (sometimes) as weekend bags because they can carry all sort of stuff even the things I don't use very often. Shall I say, it's my prudent and rational attitude even though I don't need everything stored in my grab bags (LOL!). On the other hand, I also own a few small clutch bags, with or without straps, and always find them limited when I couldn't carry in them the necessary things I needed. That is why, when the Mulberry Medium Lily Scarlet Small Classic Grain arrived it was an experiment; would it work conveniently for me or not? Luckily, she ticks all of the boxes and even used her a few times when I was on a journey or met with friends. She isn't just a good quality purchase, she is also reliable and many-sided bag. 

 

The Mulberry Medium Lily Scarlet Small Classic Grain's dimensions have been ideal from the day I started handling and using her. She flatteringly held my foldable umbrella, my flapover purse, keys, oyster travel card, my vintage Jackie O sunglasses, pocket dual mirror, a pocket of tissues, shine lip balm, a pressed powder brush and soft multi face blusher. For the past times I have been using her, I always make sure that my pressed powder brush and soft multi face blusher were kept in a small pouch to avoid damaging and soiling her microfibre lining. I am an orderly woman and the thought of grime and impurity will just make me very concerned and bothered. Genuinely speaking, I'm not planning to turn her into a trump or a refused bin!

She's practically well-designed because of her elegant beauty and refinement which always manifests and allures people. The solidly detailed components were well-created starting from her postman's lock closure to its hanging fob with hidden padlock. Moreover, she's beneficially versatile as you can wear her woven and gold chain strap in 3 winsome and exquisite ways. Such as over the shoulder, across the body or carry it as a clutch bag by concealing the strap inside. 

My fascination and addiction with the like of handbags is now more of an investment which is why, I am now even thinking of venturing-out the sough-after fashion brand names in the world of consumerism.

BLUE SAPPHIRE EARRINGS SORROUNDED IN THE CLUSTER BY SPARKLING DIAMONDS

When the day of our birth comes, weeks before the actual day our wishful minds anticipate for gifts, cards or a bunch of flowers to arrive. Either from a friend, a lover or amongst our family members who dearly remember our birthdays.

Most of us would like to receive a tangible item which we can use in our everyday lives. Or it can be a special wish (like a round trip vacation abroad, see your parents who have been away for years etc.) which will bring great happiness and completeness on our special day.

Whether you receive something or just celebrating your birthday like a typical day, always be thankful to the Almighty Father for giving you another year of good health on Earth. And also, be grateful to your loved-ones and closest friends who unconditionally love and support you, through ups and downs.

More than 2 weeks ago, I celebrated and embraced another year of my life on Earth. And prior to my birthday, I already received unexpected presents from my close friends. They were material things which I liked and appreciated. Actually, it wasn’t the items that made my day bountiful and blissful as it was the sincerity and effort, wrapped in each gift. To all of you and you know who you are, Thank You so much!

Aside from the parcels, on my natal day I bought myself a gift and was one of my topmost wishes in my list too. A pair of 18ct yellow gold blue topaz stud earrings enhanced by cubic zirconia. I was delighted and thought I was!

I didn’t dislike the gift at all; I was really thankful. It's just that they had eye-opening problems when they were under my possession. The problems with the earrings happened twice. One of the gemstones came out of the metal rim or collar and also, one of the butterflies (earrings' locks) broke into two pieces (this happened twice). The first time I was just happy to receive a new replacement set as I was thinking it might be a common fault. However when one of the butterflies of the newly replaced earrings was divided into two pieces for the second time, I decided to return them to the shop and asked for the money back.

Actually, I was angry (yet polite) because they wasted my time as well as made me disappointed too. I really have a high respect to them and even thought that all of their products were sturdy. We had an agreement in which they gave back my money and a few minutes after, I stepped-out of the shop very happy!

After solving the dispute with the shop, I checked three more jewellery shops on the same high street that day. I dwelt at the shop where I bought my Diamond Ring in a setting of Blue Sapphire Stones last year. When I was there, two trays of earrings were displayed in front of me. Certainly, I didn’t doubt that they sell a much more superior quality and very classy too. That is why, I asked the man in-charged to find a pair of earrings which will match my ring. He presented me with a few and I wasn't disappointed with his humble suggestions. Aside from that, he even gave me a discount which really enticed me to buy the earrings. It was undeniably an incentive to a customer like me!

But before that, I could see that this man had a meticulous eye about precious stones. Why? It was because he recognised straight away the stone embellished in my ring (It's from our shop) and it really wows me. Honestly, I was pleased with his expertise and also very satisfied with the service offered. That's why, I felt remorseful for not going back to their shop when I was looking for a pair of exquisitely well- made earrings.

I have learnt my lesson and am now feeling contented because of my new pair of earrings from H. Purchen Jewellers.
